The Mind is an Empty Vessel

With all the things there are to do -
With all the things to worry about -
I try to keep my mind an empty vessel.

Receptive and inquisitive.

No place for a crumpled shop receipt, a dusty paperclip, or soiled rubber band.
A clear and focused space,
Creatively beckoning for more.

  1. How wonderful! I too have a bowl on my worktable that remains empty. It used to be full of doo-dads and when I rearranged it was left empty. The other day I wondered if I should put something, anything in it and decided its just fine the way it is.
