A Re-Introduction

Every once in a while I peruse my blog to re-connect with those moments and images that inspired me to write. I recently re-read a post from sometime last year that had one of my favorite necklaces buried within it. I thought she deserved a little air time so I'm posting her again.

Ta Da!

Black silk chiffon knotted around two vintage pieces of chunky coral and embellished with silver seed beads.

I'm glad she's gotten a chance at a starring role.

On Our Way Home

The beaches of British Columbia are teaming with oysters and their discarded shells, ready to be collected. When I saw this 'sculpture' on the beach at Squirrel Bay I almost felt as if I was shopping at a high end interiors shop, it was so perfectly designed. Who needs to spend money to decorate?

This is one critter that is coming home with us.

Traveling Meditations

When I'm away from home, as I have been for the past few weeks, I purposely bring with me simple art tools: a couple of pencils, a few colored markers and some small books of art paper. I then find a local art supply shop and purchase some 'souvenir' pens in colors I don't own. I buy a design or fashion magazine, which not only provides possible inspiration, but is then torn up and used to create small collages cards.

These 'traveling meditations' help me keep my creative mind supple........

.....and provide design information which may be incorporated into something else (a large textile piece?) somewhere down the road.

In the meantime, I just like how they've joined in the journey.

Friendly Critter on English Bay

I'm blessed to have a husband who loves driftwood and has a sense of humour......:) Usually these critters follow us home, but this one decided to stay on the beach and enjoy it's time until the tide came in.
